From their counter experience to their names, Evelyn Lauder drew inspiration from Parisian pharmacies.

She also drew inspiration from their iconic green insignia, represented here as the green lit cross – a symbol you can still see today in Paris.

GREEK GODDESS OF HEALTH
Slide Description

The history of the French pharmacy goes even further back, all the way to the Bowl of Hygieia, the symbol for pharmacy. Hygieia was the Greek goddess of health and hygiene.

It has been around since at least 1796, when it was used on a coin minted for the Parisian Society of Pharmacy.
